Casamania just unveiled its new metal and wicker Raphia chair, which strikes a balance between modern design and traditional craftsmanship. Designed by Politecnico di Milano industrial design graduates Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere (LucidiPevere), Raphia breathes new life into the Italian tradition of natural reed craftsmanship, which has all but disappeared. The design combines industrial metal and traditional wicker, and it’s available in red, azure, black and white.

Sometimes we get so caught up in exciting new sustainable homes designed in Japan and Scandanavia, that we forget to honor the original masters of organic architecture. Take Mickey Muennig, who designed this gorgeous glass domed “Greenhouse” in California in 1976. This tiny home features a round floor plan favored by our ancestors, a simple, rustic material palette, and a view of Partington Ridge and the Pacific ocean that we would die for.

Aedas recently announced the completion of the first phase of its seaside eco-resort at Huidong, Guangdong, China.
