Porsche just gave the world a glimpse of the sports car of tomorrow as it unveiled its new Panamera Sport Turismo Plug-in Hybrid concept at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The next-gen vehicle is powered by a new plug-in hybrid system that packs 416 horsepower, and the electric motor can drive in full electric mode at up to 80 mph for 19 miles. Thanks to the lithium-ion battery and electric motor, the Panamera Sport Turismo concept consumes less than 3.5 liters of fuel per 100 km (67.2 mpg US).

The Renault DeZir is one of the most striking green super cars that we’ve ever seen, and this month it was officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. Underneath its fluid lines and aerodynamic chassis, the DeZir boasts a 150 horsepower electric motor, powered by a vertically-mounted 24kw/h lithium-ion battery that is capable of propelling the car from 0 to 60 in 5 seconds. The battery also gives the car a range of 100 miles and its QuickDrop system allows for the super fast changing of batteries so you don’t have to wait to have a charge.

Jaguar recently unveiled a luxurious hybrid super-vehicle at the Paris Auto Show 2010 that is powered by four 195-horsepower electric motors (one at each wheel) coupled with two 80,000-rpm gasoline turbines situated under the vehicle’s rear lid. The “twin-turbine-equipped, electrically powered, four-wheel-drive vehicle” is capable of blazing speeds of up to 205 mph, but there’s just one drawback — the C-X75 is a concept car, and as such, no-one will be able to buy it.

Why it’s the Kia Pop, the latest concept car from Kia that is not only fully-electric but, despite its small size, has a range of 100 miles. As smart cars go, it’s a striking design with its curvaceous looks and chrome finish resembling something out of Minority Report, however it also has the environmental credentials to go with its looks. Powered by compact lithium polymer gel batteries, the POP only takes 6 hours to charge and can then do 160km (100 miles) in a single journey.

Henrik Fisker, who designed Aston Martin’s DB9 and V8 Vantage and the BMW Z8, is behind what his company is clearly hoping will the sexiest plug-in hybrid to hit the market — the Karma. The first factory-built vehicle is set to be unveiled next month at the Paris Motor Show, and it can go from zero to 60 in under six seconds, with maximum speeds of about 120 miles per hour, while still offering an average fuel efficiency of 100 mpg.
