Carmina Campus Recycles Mini Roadster Parts Into Luxury Handbags

Fans of the Mini Roadster will get a kick out of Carmina Campus‘s new line of the eco-friendly purses made from actual Mini parts! The upcycled line, which was launched at Milan Fashion Week is called the Carmina Campus for Mini collection and is crafted from scrap materials from the production of everyone’s favorite pint-sized convertible.

Made in Forest Hills, founded by recycling connoisseur Nicholas Ruiz, is a collection of some of the most interesting bow ties we’ve ever seen! This “Bow Tie Collection,” is a series of 11 ties inspired by different exhibits at MoMA over the course of 2011 and made from things that might otherwise be trash. Paris taxidermy store Deyrolle became a showroom for little animals made of the famous leather goods. British artist Billie Achilleos transformed the Louis Vuitton’s signature wallets, coin pouches, belts, and bag hardware into the adorable high fashion critters. Star Wars Fan Recycles Adidas Sneakers Into a Stormtrooper Helmet

Artist Freehand Profit crafted this amazing replica of a Star Wars Stormtrooper helmet entirely out of Adidas sneakers. The helmet looks almost identical to the real thing, and we can’t help but think that it’s bound to be the coolest Halloween costume ever. We’re not exactly sure why writing about doll body part couture brings us so much pleasure, but it just feels right. And artist Margaux Lange‘s cheeky accessories made of Barbie doll bits and pieces are certainly something that heightens these macabre senses! From multi-ethnic Barbie doll hand brooches that appear to celebrate diversity, to heart shaped necklaces that showcase some of Barbie’s more racy portions, upcycled jewelry really doesn’t get any more fun than this. Freakish Taxidermy Accessories Much Less Disgusting Than Fur Coats

Is that the vampire dude from Twilight?

Eeeeek! These taxidermied toppers and pigeon-wing pendants may get your gag reflex going, but they’re actually much more humane than the horrible and cruel mink coats and furs that we’ve been brainwashed to think of as “luxurious.” RP/Encore, with the taxidermy expertise of Reid Peppard, who happens to be vegetarian, makes their skin-crawling collection of jewelry and accessories out of rat bodies, guinea pig feet, and preserved pigeon feathers. The cool part? The “materials” that make these pieces extra “unique” all come from animals who have gone to that big vermin graveyard in the sky as a result of natural death, pest control or car accidents. If you ask us, that makes these artfully preserved necklaces, hairpieces and coin purses WAY less disgusting than animals carcasses that have been slaughtered just to sew them into fur coat.
