Designer Pepe Heykoop fused two ceramic tea pots together to create the Tapepot – a vessel with two spouts and two chambers that can serve several guests at the same time. The mold for the Tapepot was created by taping two vintage teapots together, and the resulting ceramic piece is both innovative and nostalgic, referencing second-hand tableware while serving as a brand new design.
Pepe Heykoop’s innovation does not just lie in remnant leather. A chance occurrence led him to develop his Tapepots: while browsing a second-hand shop, Heykoop noticed how the knick knacks were haphazardly arranged in groups and couplings. He was particularly attracted to two teapots next to each other, and decided to use them as a model for a new teapot.
