Teresa Sapey’s Adán sculptural pieces can be used as seating structures, vases or side tables. Part of the diptych design called ‘ADAN and EVA’, ADAN is predominantly geometric and linear, resembling a faceted diamond, while his counterpart is gentle, soft and delicate. The planter version of the design was commissioned to decorate the Air Gardens in Valencia for the NIT A LES ARTS event, which marked the closing of this year’s opera season.
The Adán collection was designed for and manufactured by Valencia-based firm Vondom, a leading Spanish company that designs, makes and markets contemporary outdoor furniture, pots and lighting. Built from linear low-density polyethylene (waterproof and resistant to extreme temperatures) and using the technique of rotational molding, these pieces are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. And thanks to the versatility of the material, Adán planters can also be used as recyclable lighting sources.
