Teresa Sapey [2]’s Adán sculptural pieces can be used as seating structures, vases or side tables. Part of the diptych design called ‘ADAN and EVA’, ADAN is predominantly geometric and linear, resembling a faceted diamond, while his counterpart is gentle, soft and delicate. The planter [3] version of the design was commissioned to decorate the Air Gardens in Valencia for the NIT A LES ARTS [4] event, which marked the closing of this year’s opera season.

The Adán collection was designed for and manufactured by Valencia-based firm Vondom [6], a leading Spanish company that designs, makes and markets contemporary outdoor furniture, pots and lighting. Built from linear low-density polyethylene (waterproof and resistant to extreme temperatures) and using the technique of rotational molding [7], these pieces are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. And thanks to the versatility of the material, Adán planters can also be used as recyclable lighting sources [8].
