In our opinion, The Tesla Roadster was already the sexiest car on the road — and now the first all-electric sports car to hit the market has gotten a stylish upgrade with the release of the Roadster 2.5! The Tesla Roadster can travel up to 245 miles per charge on its lithium-ion battery and goes from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds. Previously the Roadster was all curves, with a body that rolled like an ocean wave. Now the Roadster 2.5 has hit the streets and it looks like the folks over at Tesla decided to give it a little more edge. Might we say that adding a little fierceness has done the body well.
In addition to updating the body of the car, Tesla has made the interior of the Roadster 2.5 a little more comfortable. The new seats are, “built around the driver,” and promise a quieter ride with the integration of new sound reduction material in the cabin. They’ve also enhanced the Roadster’s power control hardware to create a better driving experience in all climates. Electric vehicles are notoriously finicky with extreme weather conditions, and the new Roadster promises to handle temperature changes with ease.
Though the nuts and bolts of the car are the same great all-electric driving machine, Tesla is probably hoping the sexy new exterior will help push even more sales in the coming years. They’ve updated the front fascia and added diffusing vents, put a diffuser in the back, included forged wheels, and added more support in the interior seats. Tesla promises that the development of their new Model S is their main focus but wants to add, “we still care a great deal about improving the Tesla Roadster.”
