Gallery: Textile Artist Ella Robinson Transforms Local Driftwood Into D...

Creating unique pieces by enhancing the objects she finds using detailed graphic designs.

Ella Robinson’s vibrant and colorful decorative art was one of our top picks at this year’s Origin Contemporary Craft Fair. Her choice of driftwood and washed-up glass, collected locally from the south coast of England, is combined with interesting and bright textile work to create unique pieces full of charm and character.

Rather than buying new materials, Robinson prefers to use recycled objects not only for their lessened environmental impact, but in order to work with the natural character of each piece of wood. The Royal College of Art graduate has begun developing her work by using new furniture, but still remains loyal to locally-sourced wood.
