Repurposed materials were also big this year – these beautiful sparkling lights are made by Findelkind from repurposed cooking whisks.

Nienke Janssen creates layered sculptural furniture and objects by lathing recycled scrap wood.

German Kathrin Morawietz bonds layered textiles with wood glue and turns them into colorful Veio bowls.

Seoul-based Hyojin Shin translates traditional Korean landscapes into intricately carved pieces of furniture.

Inspired by farmers’ creativity, Yunlin — the largest agricultural county in Taiwan — presented a set of cute bird nests and stools designed by DHH Studio and made from rice stems.

Sattler Objektlicht‘s glowing LED Anello lamp is a jointless lighting fixture made from recyclable aluminum that changes color and can be hung or mounted on any wall.

Interror.be’s sculptural, flat pack LED Stealth Lamp gently illuminates any desk, saving energy and materials.

Hanemaai´s modern indoor tent kit allows people to create a personal micro-space that is easy to set up and provides the freedom to travel.

The Swiss Institute of Industrial Design displayed an interactive installation that created sweet sounds from their wooden, glass, and ceramic objects.

Full of wonderful new sustainable designs, DMY 2012 at Tempelhof abandoned airport is definitely worth a visit!
