Gallery: The Colorful Eadie Armchair F...

Designer Donna Wilson mixes classic styling with quirky, colorful, hand-woven textiles to create fresh contempory pieces that are anything but old-fashioned. Her Eadie eco armchair replaces the use of petrochemicals with a combination of natural fibers such as horse hair and wool for the upholstering. Designed for SCP, the chair comes with a wide range of coverings to choose from, but we’re partial to the eye-catching pattern shown above, which is green in more ways than one.

Wilson’s Eadie chair is constructed with a solid beech and plywood frame wrapped with hessian straps and jute webbing to create a solid and comfortable chair. The armchair was launched during the 2009 London Design Festival in celebration of British furniture at Liberty’s ‘Britain Can Still Make it’ exhibition, which showcased some of the country’s best designers.

  1. Not too crazy about the pattern, but I love the colors!

very cute. would contrast nicely in a stark white space – as well as add a bit of kitsch.

  3. I like it, retro like Grandma knitted a chair.

I like the chair. I do upholstery and have done some similar ones. Visit my website and check what I do. http://www.upstairsupholstery.co.uk
