The Interims Audimax Lecture Hall in Munich is Encased In an Undulating Wooden Facade

The structure is a practical space which primarily consists of two lecture halls containing 479 and 288 seats. Beneath these are the foyer, bathrooms and technical facilities. Designed to make the maximum use of the space, the two lecture halls are divided by a single corridor which allows handicapped access.
The wooden design was constructed to last up to 20 years, with the facade’s black wood stain used to minimize any appearance of the wood’s natural aging. Deubzer Konig + Rimmel ‘s design not only serves as a functional lecture hall but creates a dynamic temporary solution to Munich Technical University’s increased classroom needs.
