As environmentalists, we won't often extol the benefits of being a gym rat - unless it involves being in the great outdoors. Which is partly why the Leopard Tree impressed us so much. Designed by Vito Di Bari for My Equilibria, this immense structure rolls out to nine workout islands spread out over 250 square meters - providing enough space for up to 30 people to work out at the same time. And it is specifically designed to be installed outside.
Upon spotting the Leopard Tree at Salone Del Mobile in Milan, we were immediately struck by the high quality materials and finish that give the gym its special flair. The design team worked with Metalco, a local business, to turn fiber-reinforced concrete, stainless steel and high quality wood into a sturdy and stylish collection of exercise equipment with a more organic aesthetic than the machines you’ll find in most indoor gyms.
The Leopard Tree comes with a seven meter tall central trunk and nine high-end accessories that can be assembled in a multitude of configurations. My Equilibria claims that – pound for pound – it is the sturdiest and most chic outdoor gym in the world. And it won’t look like your neighbor’s gym either. “Just like no two leopards have the same markings or color, each Leopard tree is highly unique and customizable. So you won’t find two leopard trees that will look exactly the same.”
We could get serious about doing pull-ups with a gym like this.
