Uxus ‘ flat-pack Light_NESS lamp was inspired by their “Not So Fragile” collection, a line which focused on re-purposing as a core design principle. UXUS developed a lighting concept where user and designer roles become interchangeable; the consumer dictates what the product should look like, and the designer simply provides the necessary materials. The lamps are assembled by taking frames and fashioning them together, attaching the cord to a desired position, and then taping the frame with the neon orange tape provided to create the “lamp shade”. Each lamp is an individual statement of the owner’s taste and perception of what a hanging lamp could be. LIGHT_NESS was first introduced during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven at the Klokgebouw.
