The Little Malibu House is one of several custom-built eco-friendly retreats in a Dos Ceibas project located in Rincón, Puerto Rico. The home features a living green roof, a rainwater catchment system, a saltwater pool and pass-through louver ventilation for cooling. The project was helmed by Brooklyn-based design and fabrication firm Big Prototype, and it lies on on the westernmost tip of Puerto Rico on a property overlooking the ocean.
The property was developed with ecological respect for one of the world’s great surf towns and was designed to maximize dramatic ocean views to create a sense of complete escape. Each lot has privacy to provide the perfect getaway from day-to-day living.
The Little Malibu House is a 3,500-square-feet, three-story home features three master bedrooms, all with in-suite bathrooms, while the fourth room includes custom designed bunk beds with living room and kitchenette. The modern, communal style of the house balances a combination of large, airy living spaces mixed with quaint nooks. Adjacent to its top floor kitchen, living and dining space is a 2,000-square-feet deck that offers stunning views of the ocean.
