Hovering above the concrete jungle of the Bandra neighborhood in Mumbai, ‘The Rooftop Garden’ by The White Room is a space of respite away from the chaos and clatter of the city. The 1500 sq ft rooftop is conceived as a pleasure garden where one can watch the sun set into the Arabian Sea and the birds fly across the sky. The garden is formed as an organic and free-flowing arched canopy that encompasses the whole length of the terrace. The canopy starts from the floor and slowly raises to a level where it becomes the roof for the patio. Empty spaces have been filled with hardy plant varieties like palms, lantanas and wild grass, and a peaceful stretch of lawn lies over the top of the canopy for inhabitants to sprawl out and enjoy the night sky.
