Gallery: Metcalfe Architecture’s Daylight-Filled Spence House Boasts So...

Tucked away in an agricultural plot in Cornwall, the home boasts soaring ceilings and buckets of natural light

Commissioned by a writer in the midst of a major lifestyle change, the Spence house is tucked away in an agricultural enclave of Cornwall, CT. Strategically-placed windows permit the perfect amount of daylighting without excess solar gain and bursts of color bring the interior to life.

Feng Shui-informed and built using sustainably-sourced and all natural materials, the compact home blends in with the natural surroundings. The home was arranged on site to have spectacular views of the surrounding Housatonic Valley, while tall ceilings matches the interior expansiveness with the outdoors.
