Gallery: Wall House: Stacked Double Home in Singapore is Topped With a ...

A manicured lawn serves as the rooftop deck for the ground floor and an extension of the garden.

At the heart of the home is a large courtyard surrounded by stone that provides a connection between both house blocks. The smaller of the homes is a two bedroom home with a modest living space and kitchen along with a workout room. The larger home has multiple living spaces, a wine cellar, a library, a large master suite and guest rooms.

Inspired by the philosophy of classical Chinese garden design, the home is equal parts garden and indoor living space. Views are carefully controlled via orientation and cutouts and the lush landscaping surrounding the home almost blocks out the towering residential buildings nearby. Water features and a pool separate the two homes and green roofs top both housing blocks to provide a yard and expand the garden. Whole glass walls slide open to connect the indoors and outdoors while an oculus streams light into the center of the home.
