The World’s Smallest Wedding Rings Made of Interlocking DNA

When it comes to wedding bands and engagement rings never mind three months salary, how about generations of genetic data? German researchers have now created the world’s smallest wedding rings from two interlocking loops of DNA—known as “catenane,” from the Latin word for “chains”—in a single drop of water [1]. Measuring less than a thousandth of the width of a human hair, the rings are likely the tiniest pledges of fidelity [2] in existence.
