We all get into tight spots on occasion, and it’s at times when we’re particularly vulnerable that a helping hand from a friend is much appreciated. This giant Galapagos tortoise at a zoo in Taipei found himself in a bit of a pickle when he rolled over onto his back and couldn’t flip over on his own. Fortunately, his buddy was nearby and was able to help him out.

Giant tortoises can live well over 100 years, so some of the ones you see trotting around today were likely born sometime around the turn of the last century! These animals are critically endangered, both by loss of habitat and by introduced species that prey on their young. If you love their little wrinkled faces and would like to help preserve them, please consider sponsoring them via one of the giant tortoise conservancy programs.
