Remya Jose, DIY, washing machine, off-grid washing machine, pedal-powered washing machine

Remya Jose lives in Kizhattoor Panchayat, India. Like most 14 year-olds, she’s required to do chores around the house. She and her twin sister were tasked with handling the family’s laundry–by hand. Instead of moping around or complaining about the time-consuming work, Jose decided to get creative. Using old bicycle gear and spare parts, she fashioned a pedal-powered washing machine that doubles as an exercise bike! Follow the link below to find out how she did it and what she’s up to now.
