While awaiting his final year of architecture school to start at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo [2], Nathan Corning┬ádesigned and built this recyclable cardboard fort for his girlfriend’s toddler [3]. Several iterations were designed in Sketch Up [4], with the two modules (kitchen/bedroom) being no wider than a standard doorway for easy setup. The two modules can be combined via velcro strips along the perimeters of the connecting passageway, or split up if it’s deemed too big for one particular room. The design was a great success with her son and his cousins!
