Thomas Wold sees old beat up cabinets in a much different light than most of us — where we see broken and useless, Wold sees the building blocks for new installations. Wold runs a design and fabrication studio in Berkeley where he makes unique custom furnishings and cabinetry often using completely upcycled materials. Cabinets, doors, drawers and salvaged wood find a new life in Wold's quirky and brightly colored furnishings, like this gorgeous pastel built-in called Fractured Fairy Tales. Thomas Wold is a custom craftsman who lives in the Bay Area with a design/fabrication studio in Berkeley. He struck our fancy with his amazing upcycled furniture creations that take parts and pieces from old furnishings. His assemblages have a decidedly modern aesthetic and are often painted bright popping colors. Wold’s talent shines through in the pieces and it’s clear how much thought and skill have gone into fitting all the parts together.
Wold is well-known for his custom furniture designs and installations, and also works on custom cabinetry and interior woodwork for homes around the Bay Area.
