Gallery: Tom Dixon Debuts Exciting New Designs at the 2013 Milan Furnit...

Tom Dixon announced some new products this week at the Milan Furniture Fair. His new collection interprets the juxtaposition of rough and smooth, and is realized through exciting, new lighting and furniture objects. For this year's show, Dixon’s crew transformed Milan’s National Museum of Science and Technology into an industrial factory, creatively "un-boxing" new designs for the public to view. The surprise highlight of the show is Tom Dixon’s new collaboration with Adidas, in which he designed travel kits and reversible, multi-purpose garments — a week’s worth of possibilities for any occasion!

Cell is a new set of geometrically-inspired lamps that mimic cellular growth. Each cell is made of polished brass, etched to filter the light rays, and cast captivating shadows onto nearby surfaces.

Copper Shade is a fan-favorite, brought back to inspire with its warm metallic glow.

Dixon’s popular Etch lamp has been scaled up this year to form a 60cm diameter pendant called the Etch Light Web Stainless Steel. This dramatic feature piece is a geometric experiment, comprised of 60 irregular pentagon shapes.

The Drum Stool is a sleek and sexy futuristic piece with a symmetrical hourglass figure, cinched at the waist. It’s light and portable, available in a range of Kvadrat fabrics.

Part of the Offcut collection, the Offcut Stool is an intriguing use of factory discards. Stools come flat-packed and are assembled with wooden pegs. Also available in black, or a natural soaped finish.

The Fan collection is a new addition and a reinterpretation of the traditional British Windsor Chair. Radiating wooden spindles are used as vertical supports, visually expanding the surroundings.

Three new additions to the table line-up; Birch Small Round Top Screw Base, Screw Table Top Large Tube Base Brass, and Screw Table Top Large Fan Base Black.

Travel Gear—Tom Dixon’s new collaboration with Adidas—is made up of a week’s worth of reversible, multi-purpose garments.
