The Toyota Prius revolutionized the world of hybrid cars . Now Toyota is set to dominate hybrid minivans with the upcoming Prius minivan, set to hit showrooms early next year! According to Toyota, the lithium-ion powered minivan will feature a high fuel economy and a large interior, with 3 rows of seats that can hold 5 to 7 people.
Toyota’s Hybrid-X concept vehicle
Toyota first hinted at a Prius minivan at this year’s North American International Auto Show, where the company announced the impending launch of a “Prius family”. The price of the new vehicle will be comparable to current Prius models, but Toyota hasn’t yet revealed any specifics.
Over the next few years, Toyota plans to unveil 8 hybrids — presumably a handful of them will carry the Prius name. Rest assured that we’ll keep an eye out for any more Prius-branded vehicles that pop up.
