Gallery: TRAIDremade Makes Recycled Cl...

With the current economic climate, “frugalista fashion” on the lips of everyone from VOGUE to Target, and people are using more of what they already have, and realizing that we don’t need to spend a lot to get a lot. TRAIDremade Boutique, a new collaboration between online ecoboutique Fashion-conscience.com and the charity TRAID, is manifesting both of these philosophies with their exclusive collection of bespoke clothing and accessories inspired by the latest couture looks right off the runway! Crafted from upcycled donated clothing, scrap fabric and vintage hardware, these high-fashion pieces will be extremely covetable and so will the price – starting from £20!

Available only on Fashion-conscience.com, brand new lines will be introduced every few weeks, as the site’s Director, Lianne Ludlow, spots exciting emerging themes on catwalks around the world and incorporates them into TRAIDremade. That means that you could have a look that would typically take 6 months to get from the runway into your hands in a fraction of the time. Ironically this model of “fast fashion” is 100% sustainable because it uses remnant materials and is made in small quantities. Talk about having your cake and eating it too!

Oh, and just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, did we mention that a portion of the proceeds go directly towards TRAID charity? That’s right, TRAID charity, which stands for Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development raises money towards protecting the environment and reducing world poverty.

So what’s on the platter du jour for TRAIDremade’s first Autumn collection? Lady-like leather jackets, flutter-embellished pencil skirts, bodycon dresses with touches of royal purple, lace and zip detailing, and chunky knitted snoods channel all the hottest looks for fall. And keep checking in because new looks will be added continuously!

We don’t need to spend more to have more – this is exacly what I believe everyone should be remembering – especially while any kind of shopping.

I am obsessed with their mini leather jacket with cap sleeves. And the fact that it’s made from entirely repurposed leather totally justifies the price in my eyes. This brand is doing such important things for Eco Fashion.
I’ve put TRAIDremade on my fall must have list. Check it out!
