Hot, muggy and sooty, Ho Chi Minh City can wear down even the most intrepid urban dweller, so there’s nothing better than coming home to a peaceful residence that is flooded with soothing natural light and even a small tropical garden that keeps the interior climate nice and cool.
A roof opening between the open plan entrance area and the bedrooms in the back of the house brings plenty of indirect light into the home, while top frame louvers in the facade promote natural ventilation – like a gentle jungle breeze. A large overhang roof in the front of the house provides shade, further reducing excess heat gain. But the real keeper here is the interior garden planted with bamboo and other tropical plants, which brings the quiet of the countryside into a contemporary city home.
