  • Designer Tristan Roland’s Music Box is a generic dining chair that was rescued from the trash and repurposed, with a record player built into the seat. Appropriated, morphed and recreated, Roland has given the discarded chair new life with added functionality. “Its original state as two separate objects, one being of a generic dining chair and the second, a discarded record player helps to portray the past, music and current issues of waste,” Roland writes. The chair is currently on display at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield, MI, and you can view a short video of it here.
