In addition to having a small footprint, though it’s difficult to see, the home’s seemingly flat roof actually has a slope that allows rainwater to be collected into a back tank. The Popomo sits atop a flatbed trailer that it is easily towed, but don’t let the “rough look” fool you: this is a solid home with all of the amenities the modern nomad needs sans the massive mortgage. For roughly $20,000 in materials you can have your very own rolling home and gather no moss as you go!
Tumbleweed's Tiny Popomo Trailer is a Rolling Home that Gathers no Moss
by Tafline Laylin, 09/22/11
Tumbleweed's tiny homes are always memorable, but the unique Popomo design by Jay Shafer may well be one of their most interesting. It's also the easiest to build. The Popomo manages to pack a bedroom, living area, kitchen, and bathroom within a 8' x 18' footprint that can be parked anywhere. And if the protective COR-TEN exterior siding is not your style, wood panelling can be used instead.
