UID Architects’ Nest House is an Eco-Friendly Retreat for Three Women in a Japanese Forest

We are familiar with UID Architects’ work as we previously featured the firm’s gorgeous Pit House in Okayama, Japan. Similar to the Pit House, the Nest House features big open spaces that flow into each other and are filled with natural light and with plants growing inside. The playful and flexible house optimizes materials and surfaces. And although the plants and trees are at the house’s core, they get plenty of natural light and fresh air, from the many windows around it.
As its name implies, the Nest House’s main concept is sweet and spiritual. It aims to offer shelter to the women and the cat, without losing the connection with the surrounding forest.
