Why camp on the cold, hard ground when you could sleep in the air among the trees? Tentsile, famous for their “portable treehouses” that offer off-the-ground camping freedom, have unveiled their most portable design yet: the ultra-light Flite Tree Tent. No heavier than the average laptop, the two-person Flite is versatile, easily straps onto your rucksack, and only weighs five pounds.
Part tent, part hammock, the ultra-light Flite gives you greater freedom to explore and takes camping to new heights, literally. The tree tent takes only 10 minutes to set up and offers 40 square feet of floor space that can be covered with an arched tear-resistant insect mesh and a waterproof polyester flysheet. Equipped with just one ratchet to save weight, the tiny suspended tent has two doors and can be set up between most tree configurations.
The Flite comes with rain covers available in five different colors and packs down to a compact size of 18 inches by 6 inches by 6 inches. The maximum set up height is 4 feet and the maximum load is 485 pounds. Tentsile pledges to plant three trees for every Flite tent sold as part of their commitment to the protection of the world’s forests. Pre-ordering for the Flite, which costs $350, begins December 10th.
