Gallery: 3,587 MPG Hypermiling Vehicle Wins 1st Place at the 2013 Shell...

The seventh annual Shell Eco-marathon Americas concluded on Sunday, as student teams from across the Americas raced their energy-efficient vehicles on a street circuit designed specifically for the marathon in downtown Houston. Students from Université Laval in Quebec, Canada won first place after their prototype vehicle CT2.0 travelled 3,587 miles on a single gallon of gasoline. This was the fourth time in the past five years that the Laval team has taken the top prize, and in doing so it broke the marathon’s mileage-per-gallon record.

    Hi there! Was Laval University’s car 100% internal combustion? Was solar and/or electric power incorporated into the design? Three thousand five hundered and eighty seven miles on one gallon of gasoline!!? Some things are quite impressive. However, this has got me flabergasted. Please reply if have the info.
