Urban Tree Salvage [1] is one of Canada’s largest manufacturers of salvaged materials and reclaimed lumber. Their Trinity Table is composed of three legs that would have been tippy on their own, but because of the cantilevered lower shelf applying weight to the dominant rear 2 legs it is surprisingly stable. The more weight applied to the lower shelf, the more stable the table becomes. The tri-legged table doesn’t need levelers on the legs for uneven floors, and its base uses very little metal. Not every piece of wood would be suited for a design like this, but many live edge [2] pieces fit nicely into the overall look because of natural tapers in trees.
