The Sarah House Project is an exciting affordable housing program in Salt Lake City that upcycles shipping containers into beautiful eco-friendly homes for low-income families. The nonprofit is headed up by real estate agent Jeffrey White, who wants to bring green living to the affordable housing market. Each home is made up of two recycled shipping containers and costs less than $120,000, including the land it sits on. Ultimately, white hopes to build entire communities of affordable shipping container houses to provide housing for underserved populations.

    I am hoping to begin a container project in Miami. Who can I contact for information on business plans, sources of labor and containers etc.

    It shouldn’t cost more than $30,000.00 if you get the containers free. $120,000.00 can get you a nice stick build home in Michigan. We have houses here, in poor parts of town, that are 25,000.00 to 50,000.00. Is someone making a profit on these? I thought it was a non-profit group. I know that in other states the land cost is more, but still. ??
