The bike-powered Velopresso coffee shop is custom constructed from an old tricycle frame. Its gears (which are no longer needed for uphill terrain) have been rewired to either push the cart forward or power the coffee grinder. Water is heated with a portable boiler powered by a tiny gas canister. The duo is even exploring the possibility of recycling old coffee grinds into ethanol to create an eco-friendly cycle. Once the prototype is more refined, they hope to produce more sustainable bike businesses across the globe.
