The Via Regina Public Garden in Brienno is a 230 square meter plaza that was completed in 2010. Albeit a new urban park, its design is completely congruent with the city’s historical character. The new square dangles over Lake Como, taking its support from recessed columns with individual foundations. It consists of a stone staircase, a wooden deck, and a loading stage.
Creating wonderful views of the city center and the opposite shore, the plaza slopes northwards, while the southern end accommodates the rest rooms, the staircase, storage, and the dock. Steel cables between the ground level and the plaza provide support for climbing plants. Instead of feeling constrained by budget and existing structures, Lorenzo Noe Studio considered this to be a stimulus for sustainable design!

When Lorenzo Noe Studio was tasked with creating the new Via Regina Public Garden in Brienno, Italy, they were asked not to interfere with the magical site overlooking Lake Como. A beautiful stone wall with 3 arches could not be altered at all, nor does
