Hungarians don’t enjoy a lot of great weather, but when they do, the ODOO house terrace will ensure they can make the most of it. The day-lit interior is comfortable too, heated as it is by insulated water tanks filled with collected rainwater. This tank is connected to pipes embedded in both the ceiling and floor by a heat exchanger device.
The vertical solar panels mostly gather energy during winter, adding to the rooftop panels. Together they generate 13,301 kWh of per year. Even though this is more than double what the home needs to function, passive design ensures that nothing is wasted. Finally, all of the mechanics are stored in the outer wall, completing what is definitely one of the most attractive and efficient homes at Villa Solar in Madrid.
