Gimmick. Pure gimmick. Why, aside from cute PR, would it be necessary to put air scrubbers in a car? It can't be part of the power system. There are no future or on-the-horizon technologies that somehow produce energy from a chemical reaction that makes air cleaner.

Thus, the scrubber has to be a purely parasitic system. A system which draws power from the car's (presumably) battery powered electric motor, wasting energy and decreasing the vehicle's range. If there are scrubbers out there which have a true net positive effect on overall air quality (most require either massive amounts of energy or chemicals), it makes far more sense to build it big and stationary and not lug it around, pointlessly, in a car.

Go plant a tree or seed a pond with algae if you want a truly green way to clean the air.

I am more interested in the air purification technology, rather than the silly looking car. They should focus on that and sell it to all the car manufacturers.

This car is a great idea if the public will only accept it. The VIERIA also resembles the Toyota concept car called the PM which they have had as a concept for some years now.
