We found out about Robin and her sweet studio through an interview over at Re-nest where she describes her average day. We love that rather than going off to find a bigger home with a place for her hair salon she made one to fit her home and her existing life. After buying the 1964 Kenskill Rambler, Carlisle and her husband set about fixing the trailer and remodeling it into a thing of beauty. Badly in need of repairs, new walls, floors and even windows, the couple gutted the trailer and rebuilt it to fit the needs of a studio.
So, out went the old fridge and other furniture, out went the old paneling in a sorry state of degradation, and out when the floor! Th trailer was updated with new paneling, new cabinets, new tile accents, a vintage dresser, a hair washing sink, and a salon chair — plus a ton of chic decor to lend the place a feminine quality that inspires beauty.
Carlisle thinks of her new studio as an “enchanted oasis, of beauty and calm”. Outside, the charming little trailer sits next to a custom built deck that Robin’s husband designed. In the summer they hope to have bands play and share their creation with friends.
