One of the sheer joys of warmer weather is releasing those pasty, day-glo feet from their argyle prisons and slipping them into something a little more comfortable. And of all the members of the spring shoe family, everyone knows that candy-colored jellies are the way to go if you’re looking to put some fun on your feet. Sadly, these slippery favorites have long been off-limits for eco-conscious fashionistas due to the fact that they are typically made out of PVC, or polyvinyl chloride, a petroleum-based plastic that can be toxic. But rejoice! Non-toxic plastic pioneer shoe brand Melissa and anglo-fashion maven Vivienne Westwood have teamed up to dream up a whole line of succulent sustainable slippers for your shoe-loving pleasure.

Wow! I have like 8 pairs of Melissa shoes; I got them because I no longer buy leather shoes, but I wasn’t aware the company is so eco-conscious and the shoes are so eco-friendly!
I was just at Kaight and tried on these shoes, and remarked that I couldn’t get them right then, but I’d probably be dreaming about them and be forced to go back and get them. I know myself too well! These shoes are extremely comfortable and comfort is paramount to me when looking for shoes; I walk dogs for a living.
I know! Who woulda thunk it?
If you’re concerned about price, these Melissas are both comfy and under $100:

Melflex plastic claims need proofing. How can i find the actual test results?
The green wash is splashing around a lot these days and i lecture so want to be as certain as i can that what i say is valid. Improvement is a step forward and that is an acceptable claim ,But eco friendly PVC sounds miraculous so please help me find the support for these claims, thanks,
