We're huge fans of Vietnamese bamboo masters Vo Trong Nghia Architects, as they always amaze us with majestic works made from the fast-growing grass. Last year they built the beautiful Flamingo Dai Lai Resort & Conference Hall - a sheltered oasis made from local, natural materials. Located 31 miles away from Hanoi, it's the perfect place to take a break from hectic city life.
Vo Trong Nghia Architects‘ Flamingo Dai Lai Resort welcomes visitors with a path leading to a 260-foot curved wall made from locally-sourced stone. The cool, light-filled entrance gives a hint of the building’s majestic design. The conference room offers space for meetings and talks underneath a roof made entirely from fast-growing local bamboo.
The living room area is simply furnished with wooden furniture that matches the ceiling’s horizontal lines. Located in-between woodland and undulating hills, the resort seems to be swallowed by its surrounding environment. Vo Trong Nghia used natural local materials to create an impressive space for events outside the city that immerses visitors in nature.
