According to president and CEO of Volkswagen Japan Gerry Dorizas, VW is planning to release two EVs based on its Up! subcompact and Golf compact in Japan within the next 3 years. The Golf model is likely to be named e-blue motion, based on the electrified Golf show car shown recently.

I probably wouldn’t be in line to be an early adopter from VW, but if they are able to find success in hybrids that’s even close to what they’ve done in diesel, that would be great! Glad to see that VW is trying their hand at this!
