Film buffs and DIYers can both appreciate these awesome film strip bookshelves made by a special collaboration of two Buenos Aires based designers. Lucas Desimone from the green geniuses at Baumm and Matias Resich from woodworking afficianados, Laboratori, have joined forces (and leftovers) to create these fun and easy collapsible shelves under a new moniker, VU35.

The shelves came about when Desimone was left with a great deal of film after a movie project, about the same time Resich was overwhelmed with wood scraps at his studio. The 35mm film is tightly pulled to keep the shelves even, but can be folded down for easy portability and adjustments. Perfect for your DVD collection or potted plants, the shelves are a fun and unique addition to any home. And If you’re not traveling to Argentina anytime soon, making your own film shelves could be an easy and fun DIY project using your favorite flick strips!
