Walmart, the world’s #1 retailer, recently announced plans to increase domestic sourcing of its products. Speaking at the National Retail Federation’s annual BIG Show on Tuesday, Walmart CEO Bill Simon pledged to buy an additional $50 billion in US-made products over the next 10 years. The company’s detractors have long criticized Walmart for sourcing products from overseas markets, but this announcement represents a major shift in focus for the mega-retailer.
