Vinylize has upcycled more than 20,000 7″ singles into multipurpose cases. Vinyl records have been produced since the 1950’s and though production peaked in the 70’s, the amount of discarded records today is staggering. Budapest based Vinylize, also know for their upcycled vinyl sunglasses and funky upcycled lamps developed a method for forming and sewing the records into pouches which can be used as pencil-cases, travel cases, or to store eyeglasses. Company founder Zachary Tipton says, “We have been doing it for about 6 years now and the response is amazing”. The company sees it as their duty to reduce the vinyl footprint.
