The WaterBean is a brilliant portable water filter that can be inserted within any bottle to provide pure, fresh water on the go. The colorful filter is small enough to be conveniently carried anywhere, and it can be used in any reused plastic bottle to purify water from the tap. Each WaterBean can safely filter 280 bottles worth of H2O into clean and pure drinking water.
Although PET plastic bottles are recyclable, many of them don’t make it to the recycling center. Instead, they load up our landfills, and leech polyethylene terephtalate into the soil and groundwater. WaterBeans offer a way to reuse plastic bottles instead of casting them away. The filter comes in blue, red, yellow and green, and each one lasts for two to three months and can purify 140 liters of water.
In addition to filtering out impurities in tap water, the filter adds magnesium, which is a mineral that the World Health Organization cites as lacking in 70% of people’s diets. The filter works with a compostable coconut carbon filter, which fits inside any bottle and expands, filtering water as it reaches your mouth.
Foldable and portable, the WaterBean is can used in a variety of applications – from hiking and adventure sports to traveling around the world or on your daily commute. The WaterBean has just launched an Indiegogo campaign where you can pick up the filters at discounted prices before they hit the market.
