Break out the bicycle helmet and get ready to get back in the “saddle” — May is National Bike Month! While it’s no secret that bike commuting boasts amazing benefits, National Bike Month– and more specifically “Bike to Work” week–is the best time to spread the message. To support the growing cycle movement, Reliance Foundry launched Pedals for Professionals, a contest that will award $5,000 in bike gear to a full time professional with the best story about how bike commuting changed (or has the potential to change) their life for the better. Read on for the full contest details!
Reliance Foundry is an industry-leading supplier for many of the bicycle-friendly infrastructure we see popping up in our cities today, from cast metal bike racks to bike storage lockers. To promote the environmentally friendly practice of bike commuting, Reliance Foundry launched the Pedals for Professionals Contest to coincide with this year’s Bike to Work Week (May 12 – May 16), and will announce the winner of $5,000 in bike equipment on Bike to Work Day, May 16.
Whether you’re an all-weather bike warrior or a novice cyclist, Pedals for Professionals wants to hear what bike commuting means to you or your organization. The submission entry doesn’t even need to be text; Reliance Foundry is looking for inspiring stories expressed as creatively as possible, which means video and imagery are welcome mediums. In addition to your story, you’ll also need to include what cycling equipment (up to $5,000 in value) you or your employees would like to win and how that gear will help motivate you and others to pedal to work.
You can submit your story to firstname.lastname@example.org or post it directly to Reliance Foundry’s Pedals for Professionals Contest page on LinkedIn. The deadline for submissions is May 14, 2014. Winners will be selected by Reliance Foundry’s marketing department and judged on creativity, inspiration of the message, and overall readability of the submission. The contest is open to full time employees, of all companies, who are over eighteen years of age and are residents of either the United States or Canada. For more details, see the Pedals for Professionals Official Contest Page.
