The WindMade label, which was just announced today, will be a new way for you to see whether or not the products you’re buying were manufactured using wind energy. The initiative has been supported by a host of wind power groups and companies — including the Danish wind company Vestas — and hopes to help make products that are powered with green energy more attractive to consumers.

    Windmade label will certainly give a boost to wind industry and in turn i think we all benefit in the “Green Energy Industry”. Let’s hope for the very best of Windmade.

    Not easy to fake, or not CHEAP to fake? The announcement in trade journal Windpower Monthly says:

    ‘Asked about the difficulties of proving a product had actually been made from wind energy, a GWEC spokeswoman said: “What is important is we drive development of new wind farms. It doesn’t matter where you get your electrons as long as you drive wind power development.”’

    In other words, it’s a sticker showing support for wind, not actual use. It should be “Windmaker”, maybe.
