The simple silhouettes appear as if by magic, however Arsan let us in on the trick – as the drink stains the unglazed part of the cup the shape of the animal is formed. Working within the concept of involving “endangered animals into the daily coffee routine”, the designs serve as a little reminder of “the approaching danger of extinction.”

These great teacups are stylish yet subtle, and they provide food-for thought with their multi-faceted design. We look forward to seeing more work by Esin Arsan, who recently graduated from the Industrial Design department of Pratt Institute.

If this was really a “green” product, we wouldn’t be buying new stuff to clutter our landfills and to strip our earth of additional resources.
