Woolly Pocket Debuts New Recycled Plastic Wall Planter at Independent Garden Center Show
If you love the look of Woolly Pocket planters but aren’t sure how a fabric planter would work in your living room, have no fear – Woolly Pocket just debuted a new wall planter made from recycled plastic at the Independent Garden Center Show in Chicago. Watering has never been easier (or less messy), and the new hard-sided planters are expected to be even more affordable. Although they aren’t available for sale yet, Wooly Pocket is planning to release them in late fall – just in time for holiday shopping.
Woolly Pocket’s Living Wall Planter is a totally reimagined version of their soft-sided felt fabric planter. Drawing upon feedback from customers and garden centers, Woolly Pocket sought to offer another option for those concerned about the safety of the planters – especially while watering. Water is added to small circular openings in the top corners of the planter, where it trickles down through the growing medium. No leaks, no mess, no fuss is the idea, and the planters are every bit as modular as the originals.
The Living Wall Planter is made from 100% BPA-free food-grade polypropylene plastic and made in America. It comes in a variety of colors including bright green, white, brown, slate and gray. The darker colors are made from 100% recycled plastic and the lighter ones are made from 50% recycled. No word yet on how much the planters will cost, but they are expected to be out in October 2012.
