Eating al fresco usually means a tiny table at an outdoor cafe, but a pair of twins in Switzerland are thinking much bigger. Twins Frank and Patrik Riklin organized the creation of a 160,000-foot-long picnic blanket they’re calling “Bignik.” Scores of volunteers were needed to turn assemble the traditional red and white patchwork behemoth of repurposed towels, bedsheets, curtains, and other donated household textiles. This isn’t the first massive picnic blanket built by the twins, and it’s not going to be the last. Follow the link to learn more about the project.
